Racing with GBYC
Great Bay Yacht Club has a rich history of racing, having hosted over 100 regattas we have learned how to organize a fun and competitive environment that is welcoming to sailors of all experience levels and small craft of all types. We have a standard racing class of “MerryMac” sailboats and have often hosted a standard racing class of “Laser” sailboats. Our MerryMac regattas are open to all small craft. We have had competition join us in tiny “Frosty” dinghies as well as larger “HandyCat” boats.

At Great Bay Yacht Club, we take pride in our partnership with the Gundalow Company, who offers an enriching camp experience for children. Led by the Gundalow Company, these engaging programs provide young participants with hands-on opportunities to learn aboard the gundalow PISCATAQUA.
Club Events
Every year, Great Bay Yacht Club invites its members to join in the festivities at our annual Spring Fling and Fall Social Party. These cherished traditions not only mark the changing seasons but also embody the spirit of friendship and shared passion for sailing that defines our club.
At Great Bay Yacht Club we have with fun on-water events that add a splash of adventure to our calendar. Throughout the year, we organize flotillas and regattas, offering members opportunities to navigate the beautiful waters of Great Bay together. One such event in the planing is our Redneck Regatta.
